MONAHDEE OPEN LIBRARY BY EZEKIEL MOSES

With the high rate of illiteracy in Africa teaching children how to read becomes a thing of great concern. I have seen many high school senior students and even graduates who find it difficult to read a simple sentence or communicate fluently in English hence the importance of early reading in children.

CHANGE ENTERTAINMENT yesterday graced a special occasion of Monahdee’s Reading Room Opening THE EVENT WAS GRACED BY Hon. Fergus Cochrane-Dyet of the British Embassy, Liberia. Hon. Frederic Vloeberghs, Brussels Airlines, Shoana Clarke Solomon of Cachelle Creative Arts Center, Ezekiel Moses of CHANGE ENTERTAINMENT and a host of dignitaries.
According to Monahdee “The purpose of AALG’s Children’s Reading room programme is to ensure children in Liberia have access to books magazines videos, audios, music and internet resources provide them with vital information and meet their academic needs. We also provide a wide range of recreational and social activities for which the children can experience the joy of reading and the excitement it brings of discovering knowledge and works of imagination”

The British Ambassador expressed is gratitude for the initiative and the willingness of the British Government to support developmental programmes in Liberia to help foster the much needed economic growth and development and peaceful coexistence in Liberia.

Hon. Frederic Voleberghs, also expressed his gratitude to Monnahdee for the initiative, he presented some books in addition to the newly purchased books at the Library.

The Library is open to all in Liberia, it is located at The Creative Arts Center, New Airfield road Sinkor, Monrovia, Liberia.
Children from this neighborhood can now have access to this Library without any fee it is totally free, something worth celebrating.

From me: EZEKIEL MOSES it was an honur being at this august occasion, to witness a progressive lunch of literacy, such a programme the encourage children to build a reading culture which is what we need to move Africa and the world at large to the next level.

HOW TO DISCOVER YOUR TALENT. BY EZEKIEL MOSES

It’s so easy to recognize talents in others and discount ours. Often we don’t understand why we can’t do the things our parents, siblings or friends do. Each person has an inherent set of skills and abilities. Even if some are similar, we use them in our own way. Together, with our own set of skills, we complement each other to make our families and the world a better place.

Discover your talent
Search your creative, artistic and personal abilities. Write down the things you can do or would like to do. This will help you recognize which abilities enhance which talents. If you need help, don’t be afraid to ask family, friends or pray.
Develop your talent
Developing your talents takes time and effort very similar to the way you learned to read, write and walk. Don’t give up on yourself when you think you’re not getting better. Some talents need more effort than others. Even if your sister makes playing the piano look simple, she likely spent hours practicing.
A family friend, shortly after graduating high school, said she hated her piano lessons. She had to use many skills, such as playing scales, understanding rhythm and how it related to music, reading and playing different notes for each finger and hand and where to place her hands for ease of hitting the correct notes. She tried everything she could think of to get out of practicing. Her mother was insistent and did not yield to her daughter’s pleas. Now she is thankful for her piano playing talent. She loves how the music sounds as her trained fingers play the notes of her favorite songs.

Have faith in yourself
You are an individual. You, your present and future family, friends, community and the world need your talents. You can do it. Don’t be afraid to push yourself past the, "I can’t." If you need to, call on family or friends for help.
Many times I’ve reached what I thought was "it." I couldn’t do any more. I’d reached my limit. Family and friends encouraged me to move beyond "it." Here’s a good example. In high school, my grades on my essays and stories said I needed improvement. And when I listened to the star of our class, well, I knew I couldn’t write. I gave it up before the skills were even developed. How could I write as good as her or my favorite authors?
In my late 40s, I met an author’s group and they asked me to write. They gave me constructive ways to make the story better. I took a writing course, and now I’m a freelance author and working on a children’s picture book. I’ve discovered that I love writing.

Learn the skills needed for your talent
Look for ways to learn about and develop your talents. Sources can include books, movies, lessons, songs, family member or friends. Don’t be afraid to mix and match. Do all you can to be your best.
If you make mistakes, don’t give up. Mistakes teach and help you and your talents grow. It’s like an orchestra. Each instrument is important for the full sound. If even one person is missing, the audience will notice. You are that instrument. Learn the skills needed so your talent will benefit everyone.

Practice so you can develop your talent
Be determined to gain control of your talent. Many skills need repetition and may take hours, days, weeks, months and even years of practice and repetition before they’re ready.
One of the best examples of determination came from our son. We were traveling to my parents-in-law and stopped at a hotel for the night. Our son, almost one, crawled to the bed, pulled himself up and walked until he fell. He crawled back to the bed and repeated the process many times until he was walking. He didn’t cry or complain; he just kept trying.
You’ve done it. Your talent is ready. Don’t hide it or it will go away. Play that piece, sing and the world will listen, listen and a soul will find peace, organize that group and many will benefit. Share your talent. You, your family, your community and the world will be a better place because you did. One thing you must know today is, the more you use your talent, the better it becomes and the more skillful you become.

"STAND OUT" BY EZEKIEL MOSES

Life always presents us with opportunity to make a mark, truly are our faces are different so is our mind and attitude. Many times we face temptations to flow with the norm, mediocrity is the order of the day. It’s ok to be average, many think as long as three-square-meal is available, dreams die in coldness of redundancy, visionlessness and lack of passion to attain uncommon height and achieve the incredible.

In the midst of it all I heard a call, to standout! Standout and be outstanding. I have always argued about majority being right. From time immemorial, majority has never been right. Majority stood against Jesus, shouted “crucify Him” they got their demand but that still does not make it right. The whites were in majority, racial discrimination was the order of the day, Martin Luther King Jr. stood as one man, spoke against the majority.

“I have a dream” he declared, jailed and assassinated that still didn’t make majority right. Nelson Mandela stood out in his generation when some so called black brothers worked against their own people, corrupted and corrupting the system. Apartheid was the order of the day, locked up for 27 years yet for Daring to standout yet his courage prevailed. Ten brothers sold second to the last born to slavery for his coat of many colors and big dreams, yet his dream prevailed. A crime committed by the crowd is often denied, committed by nobody, because the crowd is nobody but firmness and singleness wins all the time.

Majority may win in temporary instances but real victory belong to the minority who dear to standout. Your courage to standout is your edge in your generation. Men who are celebrated all through history are men who stood out against all odds.

“If you stand for nothing you will fall for anything,” a wise man once said. Now is the time to get out of the faceless crowd, now is the time to stand in loneliness, now is the time to be ready for criticism like never before, save your face, retain your identity, define who you are and refuse to be faceless among the crowd.

Heading in the direction of success? Standout! The crowd is going nowhere. The crowd is a nobody, nobody is not a name, for you to be what you were created to be, your ability to stand and keep standing is what separates you from the crowd and keeps you on the progressive side.

Checkout the world statistics, majority of the world’s wealth is controlled by minority of the population holding power. Thus, majority of the world’s population has to fight for the limited and scars resources left by the minority of the world’s population. What’s the distinction line? The minority that controls the world’s major resources are the few decision makers who refuse to be lost in the crowd but chose to standout. Make a change today join the  winning team of the ruling minority, focused, determined dare to standout and make a mark!

Stand out and keep standing, in you generation sure, you were impacted by this article? This is specially for YOU from CHANGE ENTERTAINMENT written by EZEKIEL MOSES, keep reading your way to victory on this blog, thank you!
