RELIGIOUS INSANITY by: EZEKIEL MOSES

You called it a religion of “PEACE” yet it bears fruit of violence, war, crime, murder, inhuman killings more than the mouth can say. Action they say speaks louder than words, but the words say peace and the action says violence, injustice and bloodshed then the action clearly defines the reality worth believing.

As a Corps member is the North Eastern Nigeria, we served our nation at the risk of our lives. Many times in painful memories one could never forget. Days of hunger, days of suffering yet contributing to the growth and development of a people who disguise themselves as citizens of a nation yet act as enemies all in the name of religious difference.

Many lives have been lost, how many more to go? Daily bomb blasts, killing thousands of innocent souls, now bloodshed has become a usual sport. If truly this kind of god rewards such with virgins in heaven as said, how dumb and insane that god could be who despises the tears and cry of the poor just to spread a religious ideology void of logic.

“Boko Haram,” a brand we all now live to dread, “Western education is a sin?” I remember an encounter I had some years ago talking to a Fulani Muslim in Kano State and he said to me, “there are two kinds of education, Western Education and Eastern Education.” It was my first time to hear of such, apparently, he meant Islamic Education is the best and claims Western Education lures people into Christianity or provides them with an education that builds a critical mind in people making them positive contributors to their national development.

 Let’s face the fact; this is religious insanity! This is shameful, and a total miss representation of our national integrity. From one bomb blast to another, burning of churches, killing Corpers- graduates who devoted their lives to the service of their nation all in the name of religion?

One fact Nigeria and the International community has to face is that this is Sharia and Jihad war re-branded and politicized. Kidnapping over 270 girls is the height of this insurgence that has eaten into our nation as a deadly virus claiming lives daily. The time is over when we try and cover our shame in pretense of political competence, now is the time for us as a people to join hands together and stand with one voice say no to Boko Haram and put an end to this religious insanity.

This terrorist group I believe is not as smart or intelligent as we have painted them to be. How come Boko Haram claims “Western Education is a sin” yet makes use of “bombs, guns” and ammunition made by the West and invented by the same Western Education they claim to fight.

No sane person fights education that opens the mind of people to development and their human rights. I can’t imagine where we would be today without education. They send their male children to beg on the street as Alumajiri even at three to four years old. The girl child is married out as young as they are born yet you kidnap other people’s children who are mindful about education and the progress and future of their nation.

However, if you think this offends let’s check out the reality and together let’s stand against this injustice and inhuman behavior. Let’s kick against this religious insanity, our demands are simple “Bring Back Our Girls,” eradicate Boko Haram and end this religious insanity without fear, favor or sentiments.

Now is the time for the government to listen to the cry of millions of Nigerians and the International world and declare war against (Religious Insanity) Boko Haram and socio-economic injustice, stop playing politics with innocent lives, so we can experience peace and tranquility in our nation.
