Africa my Africa
Africa united
Black and bold, beautiful and strong
Rich in land, wealthiest in resources
Pride of all the continents
Distinct from all the colors
Africa my Africa
Africans in Africa, Africans in
diaspora
Brave, brilliant and strong, builders
of great nations
Dispersed abroad by slavery
Slavery of pain and captivity
The chains so strong in plantations
abroad
Bound by task masters, yet free in
mind and heart
With freedom that broke the chains
And set the mind at liberty
“I have a dream” Oh!
The voice of hope and freedom
Our fathers, our leader’s dreams
Today our reality
Africa my Africans
Diverse in tongue, traditions and
culture
Ravaged by war, famine and hunger
Yet stand strong in liberty
Hope of a brighter future
Like the rising of the sun
Anew dawn in History begins
The stones the builders reject
World leaders number one citizen
Ancestors held slaves?
Descendants, free forever!
Africa my Africans
Stand as one together
In unity, freedom and friendship
Fulfilling dreams from ages seen
Black is my color
No matter the race, my root I know
A people so great, united
In love, in peace, in joy we stand
Africa my Africans
This is our History
Rejected, dejected but here we stand
In freedom united, we’re friends with
all
No one takes the love we have
Nothing takes our dreams and hopes
We are the world, we are the light
Blazing lamp set for all to see
Africa my Africans
Live in hope, fulfill the dream
The heart of love to light the world
United we stand, together we stand
Soon every nation and race will sing
All hail Africa! Beauty beyond
description
All hail Africa! All hail Liberia!!
Land of joy and peace, Land of
Liberty
The war is gone, new song begins
The ruin we’ll build together as one
Together in love and unity
All Counties and Districts as one we
stand
Education the light for all to see
Corruption forgotten, the truth
embraced
NEW BREED, fresh air of leadership
In wisdom, in wealth and peace we
reign
Our children rejoice our hope restored
We are Africans, as one we stand
In Freedom, Friendship and Unity
Africa my Africa
Africans united as one!
Wow! It was an amazing time for me, presenting this new poem at the event held at John Mark's residence at the U.S Emberssy in Monrovia last week Friday in celebration of the Black History Month. The event was a successful one that brought great minds together, Africans in Africa and Africans in diaspora, it was an atmosphere of friendship and brotherhood uniting Africans in honor and celebration of our history, our past, our present, our future. Watch out for more on this blog, more poetry more updates. Am glad you enjoyed this wonderful piece of poetry, regards; EZEKIEL MOSES from CHANGE ENTERTAINMENT!
