Many people are poor or failing in life today not because they were destined to be so. Many live in fear, intimidated by circumstances they have the potential to rise above and overcome.
A keen observation would reveal that “fear” or
“phobia,” seem to have become a fashionable word today among young and old.
Phobia for height, phobia for food, phobia for marriage or relationships, phobia
for failure, or success and many more, seem to be a prevalent limitation in our
societies. But no matter how fashionable it may sound, fear is a negative
factor that limits you and your abilities to succeed in life. According to Ralph Waldo Emerson "fear defeats more people than anyother thing in the world."
Great leaders all over the world are people who are blinded to fear. People who take pleasure in daring the impossible and achieving what others can’t even phantom or conceive.
I realize
that fear is “false expectation appearing real.” Fear is a limitation on your
potentials and creative power, fear makes you feel inferior at what you are
best equipped for. Fear has torment and it’s a wrong use of your creative
imagination. It is paying more attention to your limitations and weaknesses
rather than focusing on your strength, glorifying impossibilities, a waste of
your potentials and power.
Have you ever succeeded in what you had fears for and finally realize that it really wasn’t as difficult as you thought it was? I have many times, thus I’ve decided to intimidate my fears. Every human being is truly born with unlimited potentials. But those who perpetually live in fear may find it difficult to succeed until they become bold in taking up responsibilities and knowing that every challenge or problem you face is meant to make you a better person if your disposition is right.
Fear exist
in many ways, comes in different form but whichever way it appears fear is
always a limitation that is not real if you look closer. Many leaders are
stagnated in life because of fear to dream bigger than their income, develop a
new strategy or take up a new project that will better enhance their vision. I
have seen students who read and read yet fail because of fear.
They simply forget all they have spent hours reading the moment they cite the question paper or see the invigilators. Many job applicants lose employment opportunities not because they aren’t qualified according to their certificates, but because of fear of facing interviews and responding to questions with confident assurance knowing who they are?

Your journey to success truly becomes a
possibility when you learn to intimidate your fears. The first principle of
intimidating fears is to see success in the midst of failures. I realize
that an eye, not trained to see possibilities will always see failure
even if success seems obvious. You truly have a choice of what to see, possibilities
and success or impossibilities, fear and failure.
As a leader,
learn where ever you go, learn to speak positively with confidence even in the midst of fears. Followers
are naturally drawn towards courageous leaders who see victory even when defeat
seems to be . This is because courage is truly not the absence of
fears but being rest assured even in the midst of fears.
When you
have seen it, and confessed positively take action about what you believe. Fear
truly disappears when there is a corresponding action about what you used to be
afraid of. If it is gaining admission to college, go to the institution you desire
and make enquires about your dream profession. Whatever it is, start by walking
towards it, that is how to intimidate your fears. The first time I walked into
a car shop to price a brand new car because that was my dream, I was still a
student and didn’t have any money but I went to price a car that was about $7,300.
Guess what? I felt so good, while walking out of that place, I spoke with confidence, tested the car and told them I’d be back and guess what? I got a brand new car afterwards.

Practice
also helps you overcome your fears and become more confident. The danger of
fear is that, wrong expectations could become your experience when you focus on
your fears.
Associate
yourself with positive minded people because iron truly sharpens iron. Spending
time with people who do not see anything good about life, government and their
nation only lead to failure and poverty. Learn to spend time with people who
encourage you to be the best and pay more attention to your strength cause if
you don’t intimidate your fear it will intimidate you and might hinder your
chances of success, so rise up and do something now!
