FAITHFULNESS (POETRY) by: EZEKIEL MOSES

One thing that’s missing in our world
Faithfulness, loyalty and trust
Left for dead, by friends whom all I gave
Despised forsaken when love was all I needed
Broken hearts, shattered dreams, jilted by a lover for whom I gave my all

Faithfulness, gratefulness, to friends, parents, loved ones for the love they bring
Caring in all things, giving unconditionally
Brings out the best in me
Faithfulness says what is good, does what is right regardless of mistakes

What do I do? Who do I run to, looking for a faithful friend who’ll stand by me through all?
Faithful to the call, faithful to my dreams, my passion and heart desires
Faithfulness from servants to masters
Husband and wife, parents and children
Faithfulness wins all the time

When all else fails, when life fades out
A faithful friend by me will be
Through my pain, through hurts and mistakes
Stand by me and make me strong
So in you my strength may spring cause faithfulness a fruit of life
My will, I’ll be faithful in all I do, I live for it
Just remember who to stay faithful to
God, family, friends, and you

THE POWER OF PARTNERSHIP by: EZEKIEL MOSES

No man is an island. We all need each other someday. Any man who desires success must realize that importance and power of partnership in pursuit of success. God has so fabricated this world in a way that we all need each other. Everyman created by God has an inherent value to offer, and uncommon potentials to succeed and become anything he or she desires to be.

One of the keys to success in life, marriage or business is valuing partnership. It begins with knowing that you need others. Your vision is not worthy to be called a vision if you can fulfill it alone. God never gives you a vision to run alone, that’s why to every Moses there is an Aaron and to every David there is a Jonathan. All through history you will discover that men and women who have accomplished great and mighty things didn’t do it alone. No matter how intelligent or mighty you are, you need somebody’s help to fulfill your dreams.

The formation of the human body says it all, the eyes need the nose and the nose needs the mouth as well as other parts of the body. No big incorporation ever became so mighty by the knowledge and intelligence of one man. Truly there is a place for a vision bearer but there are also those that are called along to bear the burden of vision along with you and fulfill the vision along with you.

Many leaders are struggling today, because of lack of trust for partnership. Greed, lust for fame and the selfishness of “me, myself and I mentality” limits us many times from the seeing into the future and building healthy relationships that could be best for our future and vision.

A careful study of the biggest incorporation in the world reveals that, one man may be the brain but there are others who are hands and legs, ears and mouths of the vision.

One thing that promotes partnership is selflessness. Great partners who know how to work with people always use the word, “we” rather “I.” Using “we,” as a regular vocabulary is including others and making them feels secured in your business or vision. When you learn to promote the interest of others who are working together with you towards your vision you will not need to sweat to motivate them to work along with you.

Partnership is also hindered by lack of respect for other people’s opinion. Every man is entitled to their opinion no matter how foolish it sounds. If you truly desire success and want to build a good partnership you must cultivate a healthy listening skill. Many people think, speaking at people all the time without asking them what’s on their mind is what makes them a respected leader.  They may obey you because of protocol but their hearts and interests may be far from you, their drive and motivation may soon go weak.

As a leader I realize that the beauty and power of leadership is followership. Many times we pay so much attention to leadership and ignore the power of followership, but you can never become a good leader if you are not a good follower. Grate leaders are those who value and appreciate their followers. The deception we face many times is thinking that if you appreciate a staff or partner the person may begin to feel proud or may want to shine above you which is weakness in leadership.  Appreciating the partnership effort of your followers does not make you less, but adds value to you and makes you a better person.

Quit the pride, and face the reality because you truly cannot succeed alone. Partnership is an essential factor in life and business, we as leaders must pay attention to. Partnership involves two or more people combining their strengths together to achieve a common goal. In an effective partnership each partner has rights, as well as responsibilities. There’s something you have, so put it on the table.

Partnership is also working together as a team, with focus and motivation. No matter how skillful you are as a football player you cannot win a tournament alone. You need the concerted effort of your team mates, a team dedicated and determined to win will always win.

Now is the time to make a difference and achieve the incredible by the power of partnership. It begins with valuing others, and knowing how to work with people. Refuse to feel insecure, and build trust in your partners. Understand that one may chase a thousand but two will chase ten thousand. Give someone a call today, and show how much you care and value their partnership in your vision.

TRAGEDY OF LEADERSHIP by: EZEKIEL MOSES

History always repeats itself when refuse to learn from our past. Many times we hold on to the past, which distracts us from present accomplishment and makes the future seem uncertain. The best thing about your past is the lesson you learn from it, to improve your life and leadership skills in order to avoid tragedy of leadership.

The kind of leadership I believe in is not the “kingly leadership,” that has become a popular concept today but “servant leadership.” You might have been familiar with such, where one man or woman seats and commands others at will like a task master would his slave.

I have found that there is a great disparity between such leaders and the led. Many times the leader could hardly tell the mind of the people he or she is leading, and this often leads to tragedy of leadership.

The kingly leadership could have been inherited from Colonial masters; the leader is so authoritative and more concerned about satisfying personal gratifications and totally unconcerned about the feelings and opinion of the people. This is far from Biblical or traditional African concept of leadership, which is more inclusive, and service oriented, rather than being power drunk, benefit conscious and disregarding people.

It is highly imperative to note that love and selflessness is the foundation for true leadership. If we can solve the problem of leadership in Africa, then we would have achieved a lot in changing the cause of history and accomplish things twenty generations to come will be proud of.

Look around and see, the depth of tragedy of leadership eating deep into the fabric of our society. Many leaders today are totally unconcerned about the welfare of their followers but selfish interest and what they can save for their unborn generation. These leaders forget that the strength and glory of leadership is followership. The content of our character of good leadership is worth more than the reputation we build up to manipulate and impress people even when our failure seems to be so glaring.

You and I have a part to play in causing a social, economic, political and moral transformation in our nation. Together we can rewrite history, and end this tragedy of leadership. Together we can win the war against poverty and corruption, when every man or woman in our society understand their place and purpose, and selflessly commit to building rather than criticism and destruction.

I believe in our abilities to make leadership more inclusive, and build a society where everyone’s opinion matters. It begins in our families, which is the smallest unit of the society. Imagine a nation where the husband is a leader who listens and respects his wife, the wife submits and loves her husband and together they train up their children with values and principles that leads to success. That would be a paradise on earth, a nation where peace and tranquility reigns. Law, equity and justice would be the order of the day.

No one is destined to build us a developed and enviable nation to live in. The reason we fail many times is waiting for God or others to make things happen for us. Understand that God has done His part by giving us life, natural resources and a brain to think, but we have a choice to make of what we want to become. We truly have a choice and decisions to make, yes we always have a choice to do right or wrong. As a leader, understand that no choice or decision you make leaves you the same; it either makes you better or bitter. Therefore, to savage our nation and end this tragedy of leadership is to make the right decisions and do what is right all the time no matter who is doing wrong.

Leadership is not determined by the size of your office, but your effectiveness and impact. As a leader who desires success rather than tragedy, pay attention to leading by example. Learn to listen to the heart and mind of the people you are leading. Be quick to apologize and make amends when you make mistakes, this is simply accepting your humanity. Become a leader that adds value to people, not one that uses people to achieve what he wants and neglects them after achieving his or her objectives.

The essence of leadership is the ability to lead yourself, and others in the right direction towards achieving a common goal for the good of all. It is being a role model, becoming a symbol of excellence that others admire and naturally will follow. Anything short of this, is leading to tragedy.

Yes we can make a difference, we can turn tragedy into success if we determine to lead with vision and purpose in our homes, offices and any where we find ourselves. One thing you must not forget is that leadership is an opportunity and a responsibility that history will judge what we did or didn’t do with the opportunity to make the world a better place.

EMPOWERED (POETRY) by: EZEKIEL MOSES

Out here in the cold, no one to hold onto

Down and almost out, seems like the end finally is here

The ups and downs of life, makes me wanna ask why me?

Sometimes I wonder, ponder in fear and desolation

Until a still small voice I heard:  Empowered with endless possibilities!

Distracted sometimes by storms of life

Many tears, and fears some I could ne’vr explain

Daily inhale and exhale, wonder when the sun will shine again

Forsaken from the womb, raised by a single parent

Never knew what love meant or Daddy and Mummy together to love and hold

But then I heard a still small voice saying “I empowered you to reign in life”

Over’d storm, struggles and wind

Knew thee before thou were formed, with purpose separated you to win

The storm may be without but the answer always within

Within lays a winner the world awaits to see

Yesterday, today, forever, empowered to be the light

Why ask why? When the answer lays deep within

There’s more to you, than you ever have known

Although the rape and ugly past, your memories they hunt

Addictions, limitations a definition me want to hold sometimes

But now that I know, the chains I’d break, I’m free!

With wings, like eagles to fly

The sky, not my limitation, cause I’m born to win

Empowered and favored to live my dreams
